Hi! I’m a fourth-year Ph.D. student in Linguistics at Purdue University, with joint M.S. training in Statistics and Computer Science. I am fortunate to be co-advised by Prof. Elaine J. Francis in the Purdue Experimental Linguistics (ExLing) Lab and Prof. Yan Cong in the Computation and Linguistic Meaning (CALM) Lab.

My research combines psycholinguistic experiments and computational modeling to better understand how people comprehend and produce language in real time. My work focuses on how linguistic representations are processed, how individuals differ in language processing, and how speakers choose among competing syntactic structures. My dissertation investigates English relative clause extraposition from the information-theoretic perspective.

I am also fascinated by the interplay between human language and language models. My work explores how language models can support linguistic research and language education, while linguistic theories can help us better understand, evaluate, and improve language models. Recent projects include developing robust, interpretable, and reproducible LLM-derived metrics for second language writing assessment with Prof. Yan Cong, and investigating whether large audio language models can use prosodic and semantic cues to resolve syntactic ambiguity with Prof. Elsayed Issa in the Computational Linguistics at Purdue (CL@P) Lab.
